Dr. Woodruff Named Good Samaritan Champion of Philanthropy in celebration of Doctors’ Day
KEARNEY– Dr. Lissa Woodruff was named the second annual CHI Health Good Samaritan Champion of Philanthropy during a ceremony yesterday in celebration of National Doctors’ Day.
The Champion of Philanthropy Award, presented by the Good Samaritan Foundation, honors outstanding achievements in philanthropy. The award shines a light on an individual who gives generously of their time, resources, effort– including recruitment and advocacy–to support Good Samaritan in a meaningful way.
“Dr. Woodruff supports our mission in everything she does. Not only is she a skilled doctor for our patients, she also gives of her time and resources to programs and services that help our community and relationships with our physicians. She is a treasure to our region and the perfect recipient for our Champion of Philanthropy Award,” says Cindi Richter, director, Good Samaritan Foundation.
For more than 27 years, Dr. Woodruff, who currently serves as president of medical operations, has dedicated herself to the hospital and the region.
“I love Good Samaritan. It is my goal to ensure it remains strong and a place where skilled physicians care for others for years to come,” Dr. Woodruff says. “The importance of philanthropy was fostered in my life by my parents, and I'm honored to receive this award that would have made them so proud.”
Her commitment and philanthropic spirit are widely recognized, as evidenced by the numerous nominations she received from staff and the community, including:
“Dr. Woodruff is committed to advancing the culture of Good Samaritan which includes promoting her belief and support of philanthropy. Her local relationships and historical knowledge are key in maintaining Good Samaritan’s position as a regional leader in health care. She’s a vital link to promoting and supporting philanthropy for Good Samaritan projects, as well as many community non-profits.”
“Dr. Woodruff is a true ambassador for Good Samaritan and a physician whose healing extends far beyond the bedside. She constantly looks for every opportunity to support our organization and our Good Samaritan work family. She is incredibly deserving of this recognition.”
National Doctors’ Day, annually observed on March 30, is a day set aside to recognize and appreciate the dedication, skill and unwavering commitment of physicians in providing high-quality health care worldwide.
