Northwest Girls & Boys Blank Seward

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest soccer teams pitched shutouts on Thursday night vs the Seward Bluejays on senior night. 

In the boys' match, Northwest would claim a 4-0 victory. The Vikings would get 3 goals from Xavier Corona. Senior Khale Lindiman would knock in the fourth goal of the night on a penalty kick. 

The girls' match would see the Vikings winning 3-0. Sophomore Ava Waind would have two goals in the first half, giving Northwest a 2-0 lead at the break. Waind would score her first of the night on a free kick. The second would be after she launched a corner kick that would be misplayed by the goalkeeper and go into the back of the net. In the second half, Brynnslee Dubbs would have the third goal of the night. 

Both Northwest teams are 10-5 on the season. Both will be back in action on Tuesday, May 5th, hosting a district tournament match. The boys will play in the B6 tournament, awaiting the winner of Aurora vs Madison on Saturday. The Northwest girls will play in the B4 bracket and await the winner of Gross Catholic vs Madison.
