St. Paul Track Girls take Bronze In Central City; Boys Seventh


St Paul Wildcats

The St. Paul Track Teams were back in action Friday at the Central City Invite at Preferred Popcorn Field. It was another solid day for the Girls as they finished the highest of any team in Class C finishing behind Class B's Grand Island Northwest and Waverly.

Several School records fell as well on the Girls side. Zaya Lewis hurdled her way back into the school record books breaking her own record in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.80 winning the event. Piepyr Klinginsmith jumped her way into the record books at St. Paul breaking the High Jump mark of 5'3" with a 5'4" jump leaping past original record holders Elaine Stefanowicz and Misty Langan. That was good enough to get Klinginsmith in the top five with a fourth place finish.

The Girls took home a total of seven medals in the top three:

100m Hurdles - Zaya Lewis 1st 

300m Hurdles - Zaya Lewis 1st, Kyndel Sack 2nd

400m - Kami Sack 2nd Place

4x100 Relay - 2nd Place(Zaya Lewis,Katie Oakley,Piepyr Klinginsmith, Kami Sack)

4x400 Relay - 1st Place(Kami Sack, Kyndel Sack, Katie Oakley, Zaya Lewis)

Discus - Annie Stepanek 2nd Place.

The Boys finished with four medals in the top three enroute to a 7th Place finish:

400m - Eli Sladek 3rd Place

4x800 Relay - 2nd Place(Rylan Rasmussen, Jackson Kezeor, Bobby Rojo, Eli Sladek)

High Jump - Conner Douthit 1st Place

Triple Jump - Conner Douthit 2nd Place
